Make an iPad Filming Stand for your Classroom

iPads are fantastic for filming and editing inside and outside the classroom.  Holding the iPad while videoing can produce wobbly results.  What you need is a simple stand to hold the iPad while filming, or taking photos – especially when doing stop frame animation.

We made some simple stands for our workshops from some timber offcuts.  A piece of hardwood flooring 200mm x 90mm with a 10mm slot to hold iPad works well.  The size and weight provides stability, and you can prop the stand front or back with a variety of objects to get different angles.

Obviously there are fancier iPad holders for tripods, but making your own might better suite your budget!
